Media Release - TNE responds to Council requirements
TAFE New England has responded to Tamworth Regional Council’s commitment to providing safe, high-quality drinking water to Tamworth residents by developing a backflow prevention course to be held on 23 November at the Tamworth Campus.
The course has been designed to develop the skills and knowledge of plumbers to be able to test and maintain backflow prevention as requested by water authorities.
TAFE New England Plumbing Head Teacher, Michael Burn, said “TAFE New England is always innovating to respond to the training environment and the needs of students, employers and the community”.
Plumbing professionals will complete theoretical and practical components in the state-of-the-art plumbing training facilities at the Tamworth campus”, Mr Burn said.
As part of their commitment to the Tamworth region, Tamworth Regional Council ensures that property owners and plumbers are made aware of the requirements for backflow prevention and verify the certification and accreditation of plumbers involved in the installation, testing and certification of backflow devices.
Registered and licensed plumbers, or tradesmen who hold a current trade certificate in plumbing, should contact TAFE New England on 6768 2204 or visit www.tne.edu.au for more information about this course or to enrol.
